Have you ever wondered what your ex would say about you to your current or future mates?
I’m not sure I actually want to know, but sometimes it’s fun to ask hypothetical, impossible, never-meant-to-be-answered questions. Unless you actually go and seek out an answer…
I don’t know exactly how the conversation went, but I’d like to imagine when Stephanie called up her ex-boyfriend to find out what he would tell a potential suitor that it went something like:
“Uh, I have a really awkward question to ask you…”
That’s right, she wanted to know what her ex would say about her. So she asked him.
And when we raise these impossible scenarios with our friends we probably think that it’s the nature of people to say nice things about us, or tell a sunnier version of the truth, but never say anything awful (unless the awful is the truth).
So imagine Stephanie’s shock when he said she was manipulative and basically called her a compulsive liar. Eep. That didn’t go well at all.
The next day she got the customary apology phone call. Except he said, “Sorry for the way I said what I said,” but didn’t actually apologize for what he said. Clearly, he thinks she is a liar. But finally he launched into some positive things to say.
He said she was creative. Passionate. That any guy would be lucky to have her.
I couldn’t describe her better myself.
